Hi,

I`ve been trawling through the forums both here and at t-station, and while there is tons of useful information about simpleburner, I haven`t been able to find exactly what I need. I understand that when you put CDs onto MD using simpleburner, you don`t have to leave any files on your HD as well, which is good news. However, because I am away from home (Tokyo to be precise) I only have 50mb HD space on the uni network. They don`t care what you install, I`ve already installed simple burner, but my concern is as follows. I want to buy a N-10 in the next few days to listen to my CDs on the go (mp3 can wait until I get home) but if simpleburner needs a large amount of HD space during the copying process, then I may be stuffed. I`m not asking about whether it`s going to deposit permanent files on the HD (thanks to this board I know it won`t), just whether the limited HD space will be a problem during the copying process.

Actually, come to think of it, this network has TBs going spare, and I don`t know whether the 50mb limit is for permanent files saved when you logged off or if things work differently... as you can see, I`m a little out of my depth. The basic problem is that I don`t like portable CD, my home CD is too rubbish to consider analogue transfer, and anyway, I like having cool gear :-)

I hope this was reasonably clear, please tell me if it`s not.

Thanks.

No real answer for you, but I think at some time I read the info that the recent SimpleBurner updates make it possible to use less space on HD, so if you find it does not work, check if you have applied the needed updates. Btw. I think you need admin rights on the PC, and if you have that I think you normally do not have space problems. Perhaps this limitation is important in your case.

Anyway, good luck on MD! MP3 might be more easy in some cases, but if you know the problems like not that fast transfer and not so comfortable software, than everything is fine. The sound is really good and the hardware is truly HiFi (I think), no computer toy smile.gif
